Children’s author C.A. Prailleau joins award-winning host Ted Simons on Arizona Horizon (Arizona PBS) to discuss Coach Shirley’s Soccer Team: Winning the Game of Life and the real-life lessons at the heart of the story. During the conversation, Prailleau shares the inspiration behind Coach Shirley, a mentor who teaches children that confidence, teamwork, accountability, and leadership matter far beyond the field.

C.A. Prailleau is an Arizona children’s author, speaker, and communications professional, and the founder of Coach Shirley Books. She is the author of Coach Shirley’s Soccer Team: Winning the Game of Life, an Amazon #1 New Release inspired by her sister, the real-life Coach Shirley.
Prailleau has appeared on Your Life Arizona’s Your Life Your Books segment and Arizona PBS’s Arizona Horizon. She was selected for the Phoenix Public Library’s 2026 Local Author Fair and Author Programming List, and has shared her message through Barnes & Noble storytimes, ASU Preparatory campus visits, and community literacy events.
Through her books and interactive experiences, Prailleau helps young readers practice self-love, build confidence, and recognize the greatness already within them, encouraging leadership, teamwork, accountability, and strong character they can carry for life.

Black Philanthropy Month Celebration | August 7, 2026 | Phoenix, AZ
C.A. Prailleau joined the Arizona Community Foundation’s Black Philanthropy Month Celebration at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center. As part of the evening, she connected with community members and signed copies of Coach Shirley’s Soccer Team: Winning the Game of Life. The Black Philanthropy Initiative purchased 150 copies of the book for community distribution, extending its message to young readers across the community.
Barnes & Noble Storytime & Book Signing | August 1, 2026 | Phoenix, AZ
C.A. Prailleau hosted an interactive storytime and book signing at Barnes & Noble Desert Ridge. In partnership with the Black Philanthropy Initiative, the event also served as a kickoff to Black Philanthropy Month, bringing families and community members together around literacy and the message of Coach Shirley’s Soccer Team: Winning the Game of Life.
